In Loving Memory of Tom Diener
26 years old • Dedicated Firefighter/Paramedic • Hero to his community
The Oshkosh and Town of Sheboygan fire departments, along with family, friends, and the entire community, are heartbroken over the sudden loss of Tom Diener on December 11, 2025. Tom, a 26-year-old firefighter/paramedic with the Oshkosh Fire Department and lieutenant with the Town of Sheboygan Fire Department, was tragically killed in a highway crash in Indiana while returning from a work trip focused on public safety and emergency warning systems.
Tom was more than his titles—he was a passionate public servant, co-owner of Sheboygan Warning Systems, and someone whose energy lit up every room. Colleagues remember his sharp humor, unwavering wit, incredible work ethic, and genuine care for others. As Kyle Mollen, who went through recruit school with him, shared: Tom’s humor, wit, and dedication will never be forgotten.
On Monday evening, dozens of firefighters from both departments lined the sidewalk outside a Sheboygan funeral home, standing in solemn salute as Tom’s body was brought home. It was a powerful tribute to a brother who gave everything to protect and serve his community.
Tom’s legacy lives on in the lives he saved, the communities he helped safeguard, and the countless people he inspired. His loss is profound, felt deeply by his family, his fire service brothers and sisters, and all who knew his infectious spirit.
To Tom’s family, friends, and the injured colleagues Carter Haen and Robbie Betts: you are in our thoughts and prayers during this unimaginable time.
Rest easy, Tom. You served with honor, lived with passion, and will be remembered forever.
Gone but never forgotten.
RIP Tom Diener
