On Sunday, December 14, 2025, shortly after 5:00 p.m., the fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Louisiana Highway 57 and Thompson Road in Terrebonne Parish. Emergency responders arrived quickly but pronounced Pernell Naquin deceased at the scene. The driver of the Buick Encore sustained moderate injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
